For those who did not get to see it in person I tried to give you the flavor in a few pictures. Durell helped fix the fuel line and then tried to start it until his arm fell off. Durry came over and 2 cranks, started right up. I guess Durell got it primed? It took right off and boy did it look good. It did really look real when he flew by.
It was a bit windy, not that the Stearman even noticed but on the landing kind of helped tip it over but no damage. It was a successful maiden flight and the plane just seems to fly beautifully.
It was great to see a project that was a lot of time in the making look so good and fly even better. Awesome job Durry. |
