Scratch Build - Ziroli Corsair 2008 and beyond - 2008/01/05 02:27 OK,

I have been silent for awhile but I have not idle(totally). I have completed the fiberglassing process on 99% of the aircraft.

I have mounted the engine. Rough fit the cowl, installed cowl mounts and I'm almost done mounting up all the servo control horns, arms and linkages.

I'm looking for a pilot and playing with the canopy fit up. Soon I will be glueing abnd pinning in the control surface hinges.

It's January 7, 2008, the project started in December of 2005(I think). I've watched the Dave Platt Klass Kote Paint video about ten times. I'm almost ready to buy paint.

Primer could happen this spring and a test flight this summer.

It's a goal.

I will post some progress photos below. More to come.

Re:ZC 2008 - The Saga Continues - 2008/01/05 02:45 Flaps, Ailerons mounted, servos installed, control leads sized, soldered and final adjusted.

You can see the inner flap section on the right side, next to the cloth pin is NOT fiberglassed yet. The leading edge of the flap is not done, I had a problem with my servo arm alignment and I put that one section off to the side to finish after I get the servo arm situation figured out.

Re:ZC 2008 - The Saga Continues - 2008/01/05 02:47 Close up of the Elevator linkage in the tail.

I chose to install this servo as close as possible to the control surface to reduce play or flex in the mechanism.

Re:ZC 2008 - The Saga Continues - 2008/01/05 02:50 After all the planning and fitting and replanning and refitting, the flaps still bind at about 50% deployment. Not to worry, some sanding at some key areas should free up the travel to design limit.
