Re:3D Electric Foamie -3DX - 2007/03/26 19:16 The first version of this plane was rather disappointing. There were several issues that I disliked.
1. The softness of the tail section caused the plane to react squirrelly in maneuvers.
2. The roll rate was poor due to the single servo moving the ailerons.

Right after the first flight I knew I had to relook at the design. After some contemplation, I decided to build a box fuse out of FFF (fan fold foam) and see how she flew.

Here is what came of the project.

Re:3D Electric Foamie -3DX - 2007/03/26 19:23 The additions to the air frame and control linkages have added another half an ounce but considering the plane is overpowered with a 450XT spinning a APC 11x4.7, it flies very well. Need some adjustments to the right thrust and a little more aft CG and it is should be good to go.

If you want directions on how to build one, drop me an email and we can talk as most of the modifications are not on paper yet.
