Winter 2007 - 2007/01/03 00:29 Started this thread to get some discussion on what people are building this winter. Here's my list;

Currently in process - Building another variation of the 3D plane I built earlier. Called the first one the Mutt, calling this one the Mongrel. Will be larger (744 sq in wing) for a 70 FS. Have the wing built up and am working on the tail design. Per Joe A. suggestion, am stretching the tail moment by 18% over the Mutt. Hopefully it will prop hang like Joe's Funtana.

PBF (Pizza Box Flyer) - Found this on the web one day and it looked like a ton of fun. Cheap, easy and fast to build. Will also be my winter "mud" plane. Somebody want to build an electric version?

OMP Yak 47 - Since Tom is building the MOJO and to see what all I'm doing wrong on my scratch builds, I'm going to build one of these in the late winter. http://ohiomodelplanes.com/47yak/.

Re:Winter 2007 - 2007/01/27 09:32 This winter I'm overhauling my Flight Equipment box, and working on organizing the shop. I've purchased some new shoplights to provide more light, and make a full 4'x8' table to work on.

For projects, I'm currently trying to get my Honeybee CP2 in shape for the Mall Show, outfitting her with a scale body and hopefully some armament. Goal is to have a Kiowa Warrior.

I have regular maintence on the planes as well. A small spot of torn covering on my Beaver, and some hinges need attention on my Rascal.

Re:Winter 2007 - 2007/01/28 14:15 Getting closer. Main fuselage is fitted around the components, and I should be able to get the clear winshields formed and fitted by end of the week. I'm hoping to have her painted by next Sunday, so I can then focus on some detailing and armament up till the Show. A lot to go yet,.. I can see some late nights next week

Re:Winter 2007 - PBF - 2007/02/02 15:51 I had one of these a few years ago. They like rudder to turn and I put taildragger gear on mine. I didn't like the hand launch thing.

I couldn't find a picture with the gear.

I may try a blue foam version, that's a great idea.

if kept under 15 oz a Eflite 400 outrunner would work great.
More on that later.

Kev.
