Re:Ziroli Corsair - Fiberglass & Epoxy - 2007/06/11 14:21 I'm pretty happy with the way the fiberglass and epoxy has been going. I only messed up once and let some epxoy sit too long before trying to scrape off the excess. Of course it had to be the TOP of the wing and not the bottom. So I am sanding that section down to match the others before proceeding with the finish flow coat process.

I have moved the plane and wing back down into the basement for final installation of the control surfaces and servo linkages. After that I will prep the plane for primer.

Attached are some photos of the glass process. I was able to use one piece of fiberglass from the nose to the front edge of the stabilizer on the fuselage. I worked in small 10 to 12 inch sections of the plane starting in the middle going forward and then middle to back. I used about 3/4 of an ounce of resin at a time, with about 15 to 20 minutes of working time.

Re:Ziroli Corsair - Fiberglass & Epoxy - 2007/06/11 14:28 WIng Bottom

Worked from the middle out each side.
Three batches for the center piece,
two batches for end wing panel.
Each batch done on a different day.
The key is to take your time and not try to do too much too quickly or things start to pull up and get messy.
