Ziroli Corsair Scratch Build - 2006/12/29 13:31
I will continue my pictoral monologue of my Ziroli Corsair build here . Since the December meeting (2 year anniversary of build) I have started planking the top of the wing and turtle deck of the Fuselage. I have hinged the rudder, run the control rod and mounted the a fixed tail wheel. I am now sanding the wing saddle to align the wing with the Stabilizer. On initial fit the right wing tip was 3 inches higher than the left . Sounds like allot but when I stood back and looked the gull wing made it look OK(it is 97 inch long) the laser alignment tool proved otherwise, it didn't take much sanding to get it within a 1/2 inch . I haven't gotten back to it in a couple days, but should line things up this weekend. Next i will be hinging the elevator and mounting the control rod. The elevator is so far back that I need a longer 4-40 rod and sleeve. I bought the 3 foot version, I will have to see if they make a longer rod or if I have to put a soldered coupling in it somewhere.
Some pictures are attached.
